The path passes through a low-lying forest area, along an ancient Roman road which dates back to the 4th century. The Roman Road connected the Great Road (Nikopolis ad Istrum – Augusta Traiana – Constantinople) with the Gradishte area above Gabrovo where there used to be a fortress in 4-7 century.
The eco path starts from the village of Bozhentsi and is about 8 km long. Since the founding of the village of Bozhentsi, the path has provided a short cut to Gabrovo
